Susan Black

SB.jpg

Susan is originally from Glasgow but has stayed in the Borders, principally Lauder, since 1984. She has been singing since she was 5 when she joined the Glasgow Youth choir. Her career has since expanded from singing alone to musicals, operetta and opera, having sung with many of the Glasgow, Edinburgh and Borders companies over the years. Her favourite role is Carmen, which she considers herself lucky to have played in 3 separate productions. Although not her main occupation she has singing as a time consuming and absorbing second profession which she enjoys in all its aspects including teaching.

Susan be singing "Willie's rare and Willie's fair" and "The Laird o Cockpen" both arrangements from "lasses, Love and Life" a cycle of folk songs by John Maxwell Geddes.
